Credit Union

Clivey Credit UnionAn exciting new partnership between Clivey Credit Union, West Swindon Children’s Centre, Toothill Church & Toothill Community Café is bringing a new financial opportunity to residents of West Swindon. After much planning and hard work, a branch of Clivey Credit Union will open in Toothill Church. The new collection point is being warmly welcomed by the Community Cafe at the church on Monday mornings from 10:30 - 11:30am. It is available for anyone who lives or works North of the main railway line – and that includes all of West Swindon.

A group of volunteers has been recruited by West Swindon Children’s Centre to run the collection point.

Anyone living or working in Swindon can join a Credit Union. There are two ‘community banks’ that provide a local, safe, and cheap way through the financial ups and downs of life with the opportunity to take out loans from a pool of money that belongs to everyone who puts their savings into it.

If you live or work NORTH of the main railway line, join Clivey Credit Union at one of our two collection points:

Clivey Project, Clive Parade, 541 Cricklade Road, SN2 1AH Open: 10:00 – 12:00 Weds & 11:00 – 12:00 Sat.  Tel:               07905 636152

ToothillChurch, Toothill Church, Dunwich Drive, Toothill, SN5 8SX Open: 10:30 – 11:30 Mondays

Alternatively, if you live or work SOUTH of the main railway line, then the Steam Ahead Credit Union is the one for you. More details can be found on their joint website.

Whichever you chose, you'll need to take two forms of personal ID to join - your passport or driving licence and a recent household bill will be fine. It costs £1 to join. Visit the Credit Union to join and then continue to visit the Credit Union in person to pay cash into your account, or, if you prefer, pay-in by standing order from your bank.

Lots more details of how credit unions work, what the rates are and recent news are available on their website.
